People often ask how they can work with Law of Attraction principles more successfully. “Are there,” they ask “any law of attraction tips I can use?”
Answer: yes. And you already know what many of them are. You just haven’t used them yet.
I’m going to list some of them below, so that you can see how to work more successfully in manifesting what you want with law of attraction techniques.
One: Have A Vision Board
I think almost everybody’s heard about vision boards, because they’re one of the staples of the self-improvement world.
The idea is that if you constantly think about what you want to achieve or how you would like your life to be, then you’re bound to send your brain subconscious signals – it’s a bit like programming yourself for success.
You can cut out magazine pictures or images that symbolize exactly what you’d like in your life.
Paste them or pin them on a board where you’re going to see them every day – perhaps over your desk.
Some people use a variation on this theme by putting pictures of their desired objectives inside their wallet for example.
And a cunning variation I’ve heard of is to put a high denomination note in your wallet and keep it there. Every time you open your wallet you will see it there, and you get the message there is plenty of money available to you for your immediate needs.
This tells your brain that everything you need is already provided for.
I’m sure with a bit of imagination and creativity you can come up with plenty of ways of using visual images to improve the effectiveness of your manifestation.
Two: Use Affirmations
Again, these are very well known nowadays because everybody’s heard of affirmations. The thing is, very few people seem to use them successfully.
To start with there is a certain amount of self-discipline involved in using affirmations – you need to have the discipline to remind yourself what your affirmations are everyday, and then the discipline to say them as many times as you feel useful.
But affirmations are extremely useful. Some good examples of affirmations are: “Everything I need comes to me easily and effortlessly.” “I attract fulfilling and mutually supportive friendships.” “My imagination is boundless and creative.” “I’m confident and increasingly confident in everything I choose to do.” “I’m my own person, and I choose how I think feel and behave.”
I’m sure that if you focus on the areas of your life you would like to improve, you can find ways to express your aspirations and goals in the form of affirmations.
For example if you one of your objectives is to find a loving relationship using the Law Of Attraction, then one good way to achieve this might be to turn your goal into an affirmation: “I am deeply loved by a man/woman who is a soulmate and can complement my life in a perfect way.”
Three: Enjoy Meditation and Relaxation
Many people who achieve great success in life use a creative state of mind produced by meditation or relaxation in which they can picture the images of their desirable undesired life.
It’s almost as though when you are in a relaxed meditative state, there’s a easier pathway from the conscious mind to the subconscious.
And, as you know, the subconscious is where goals need to be implanted for you to achieve them.
If you’re interested in exploring this adjunct to visualization and Law Of Aattraction, get hold of a CD or MP3 which will train your brain to go to the alpha wave frequency.
The alpha frequency is a state in which your brain’s activity moves more slowly and in greater harmony. Right brain creativity that can fuel the process of manifestation.
Four: Practice Gratitude
Practising gratitude has huge power, because it’s extremely effective in changing your thought patterns from negative to positive.
As I’ve said before, if you’re focusing on the reasons why you can’t achieve a goal or objective – in other words, if your limiting beliefs are so prominent in your mind that they take precedence in your thoughts – then you’re not likely to be able to manifest anything.
To the extent that you can focus on the positive, you will become much more able to believe in the possibility of achieving your objectives and getting what you want.
So practising gratitude looks like taking a few minutes two or three times a day to focus on the things that you’re grateful for.
If your life’s in a very negative place, this can be extremely helpful.
You might want to focus on the gratitude you feel when you experience the sight of a beautiful vision of nature, or when you enjoy the taste of a certain food, or see your family, friends or children.
The truth of the matter is that no matter how negative your life seems, you do have something to be grateful for, and the more you focus on this, the more you’ll find the your life expands into the positive. And the things for which you can feel gratitude can also expand.
The more you find things you can feel grateful for, the more positive you will be, and the more positive you are, the more successful you will be manifestation.
Five: Form A Mastermind Group
A mastermind group is a group of people who can support you in your objectives.
You might have noticed in life how very often when you form an objective or goal, and you share it with another person whom you might expect to support you, they’ll respond negatively in one way or another.
There are plenty of reasons why this happens, but I think the first and foremost of them is that people are afraid of change.
More specifically, they’re afraid of you changing, because that will inevitably have consequences for them.
And of course what people fear most is that they’ll be left alone or abandoned or that their comfort zone will be stretched to breaking point, or that something will threaten them in some way that shakes their identity or their sense of security.
And that may be true, because when you start forming visions and goals and objectives and setting out to achieve them with the Law Of Attraction, there’s no doubt that things do change.
Change is inevitable part of life which can’t be avoided if you are actually going to grow as a person.
However if you’re really serious about your objectives, then sharing them with people who can’t support you is clearly self-defeating.
My solution: only share them with people who are on the same path as you are and who can actively and wholeheartedly support you 100% in your group.
A mastermind group consists of between three and six individuals who are supporting each other in their attempts to change their lives. They don’t have to be working towards the same goal, although they can be.
All that is necessary is a willingness to provide emotional, spiritual (and perhaps physical) support to each other.
This comes in many forms, including positive feedback, the critiquing of your vision, goals and objectives, and helping to bring you into a sense of your own sovereignty and power.
Six: Write Your Goals Down
It is a cliche, but the truth of the matter is that when you write your goals down, you’re much more likely to achieve them.
Besides which, if you have a physical record of them in writing, you can tick them off as you achieve them, and put new ones in place to drive your progress forward.
The Law of Attraction is, in this sense at least, quite a mechanical process: you do certain things, and certain things happen.
For example, you write your goals down, you take action steps, you practice meditation and visualisation, you have a vision board and all the other things I mentioned above, and – lo and behold! – things change in your life.
But the one thing that needs to be consistent is what you do: keep a record of where you’re going, and how you’re going to get where you’re going. You see, without some kind of record of your goals and achievements, you’re almost flying blind.
Think of it like a logbook in a plane, perhaps even a manual of instructions for running your life.
Your subconscious mind responds readily to clear instructions, and the fact that you have them written down in the form of goals and objectives is powerful – it really reinforces your ability to achieve your goals.
Seven: Deal with Limiting Beliefs
On this website I’ve described how belief is a vital component of manifestation – in other words, you have to believe that what you’re trying to create is possible.
For example, if you are visualizing yourself walking on the moon, it’s extremely unlikely that you’d really believe that was possible.
That’s a limiting belief of the most obvious kind. And you cannot manifest reality in the face of limiting beliefs.
But generally, limiting beliefs are much less obvious than this.
So for example if you are trying to manifest $1 million, what you might not really understand is that somewhere inside your subconscious mind is a belief that you developed as you grew up about how much you are actually worth.
It’s almost certain, in fact, that the type of job you are doing and the amount of money you’re earning are two sharp reflections of how you see your own worth and place in the world.
Without getting into a debate about the detail of this, people are limited in all kinds of ways about how much they believe they are worth. Other limiting beliefs focus on whether you believe you are lovable, fundamentally good or bad, or powerful or weak.
Most of these beliefs are indeed subconscious. So if you’re trying to manifest something and you have a limiting belief which contradicts the reality of what you are trying to create, you’re not likely to be successful.
Indeed, this is one of the main reasons why Law of Attraction principles and manifestation doesn’t work for most people.
How you deal with your limiting beliefs?
First and foremost, you start by identifying them. And then, having done that, you may feel it helpful to do some kind of personal development work.
This will allow you to sidestep, to overcome, or to grow beyond, the limitations that were implanted in your mind by others as you grew up.
It could involve personal therapy, it could involve group work; it could involve work in an organisation or group setting on yourself; and it could involve setting beliefs that you can totally commit to, because there are no limiting beliefs in the way.
Mike Dooley has an interesting thing to say about this. He suggests that if you “program” or visualize yourself achieving happiness, then you sidestep your limiting beliefs, or at least a lot of them.
The idea is that by programming yourself to achieve happiness, everything that constitutes happiness for you will manifest. (For example, prosperity, abundance, a soul mate….)
(Sure, if you happen to believe that you can’t be happy, then you have a different kind of problem! Even so this is an interesting thought, and if you’re interested in reading more about it, I suggest you get hold of Mike’s books or attend some of his workshops.)
For me, one of the most powerful ways of overcoming limiting beliefs has to been to take action. If I’ve been trying to manifest something, and I’ve discovered that a lot of fear comes up, I set myself the objective of taking action in a way which will demonstrate to me that the fear is out of date!
For example if you wanted to be a world-class inspirational speaker, but you had a fear of being on the stage and speaking in public, then clearly you would have to do something to get over that.
You might, for example, start out at Toastmasters learning to speak in a safe environment. Or you might set yourself an objective of giving a presentation to some friends and family in the local community, school or church.
The point is that every time you overcome your inhibitions by doing something, you prove to yourself that you are capable of overcoming your limiting beliefs.
You’ll find that the more you do this, the more your limiting beliefs magically fade away.
Eight: Take Action
Another thing which holds people back from achieving much when they use Law of Attraction principle is the fact they never take any action.
Sitting in a chair visualising is necessary but not enough. You have to take action. You have to do something to show yourself and the world that you are ready and willing to step out into the world and demand what is your right.
Now, only you know what that is, and only you can take the action necessary to demonstrate to yourself that you’re serious about getting what you want.
Unlike some self-help experts, I don’t believe this action has to be massive. I think it’s perfectly adequate to take small steps, provided you do so regularly and with commitment.
You see, many small steps add up to a very large movement. The difficulty of philosophies which suggest you should take “massive irreversible action” is that most people are not capable of doing that.
They have too much fear, too many inhibitions or too many limiting beliefs to allow them to do that. But each and every one of us can take small steps that will bring about massive change over the long term.
